Despite this book being laid out alot like Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, I'm surprised I didn't enjoy it. 

I know I'm far too old to be reading this, but sometimes it's nice to have a quick and easy read. I found that the characters were all annoying and I didn't really want to read it. 

Luckily I managed to get through this book after such a long time reading it. I can unfortunately only give this book 2 stars

Miss Peregrines Home Of Peculiar Children | Review

When I bought this book I was very intrigued by the weird and slightly creepy pictures.

I put off this book for nearly three months. I know it sounds ridiculous but I was too scared of what I'd find inside. I knew it was going to be a bit weird but I'm glad I finally read it.

I'm grateful it only took me about thirty or so paged to get into this book, because with books I'm not used to reading it can take much longer than that. It shouldn't take to long to read with the pictures, because they are so intriguing and bizarre they encourage you to read on and learn more about the characters and what will happen to them.

I loved this book. The plot was gripping, characters intriguing and the pictures were a great help with visualisation. I find that this book was very unique and give it five stars and recommend.

Kindle 6" E Ink Display (Previous Generation - 5th) review

I purchased this basic Kindle approximately a year ago and so far I haven't had any problems. It's cheap, but good quality, like other Kindle products. Also, I believe that Amazon have a far larger variety of products than that of other companies such as iTunes and has very good delivery.

There are a large amount of books including best selling novels and some that are slightly less well known. Only certain novels can't be found and have to be purchased as a paper copy. Some of these books include: Very old, obscure and some very old/obscure educational fiction and non-fiction.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire | Review

Part 1: I apologize for this being in parts. As you may know this book was very long and it helped me to write a review in the two parts.
This book has been as good as the first three. As I expected, the book was very different to the movie. Though both are pretty amazing.
I immensely enjoyed reading about the twins (Fred & George). I find them both very amusing and fascinating as they are always up to no good and usually get caught.
I especially enjoyed reading about the world cup and think it was very well written. I also pity the house elf that was accused of conjuring the dark mark.
Reading about the Tri-wizard tournament was an excellent read so far. Also the dialogue was very good thoughout the book so far, especially when the students were chosen for the tournament. The wands being tested was also and interesting read and reading about the dragons was fascinating.
I enjoyed reading about the house elves in the kitchen. I enjoyed the descriptions of Dobby and Winky and that Dumbledore gave them jobs. The dialogue between the elves and the students was very good. Also I liked how the elves continually offered to give the students tea.
The second task was also a very good read.I was a very enjoyeable part of the book. My favourate part of reading that part was Dobby giving Harry the Gillyweed. In the movie, this is very different. I also like reading about Krum being unable to fully transform into a shark for the task. I found it amusing.
I have taken a massive dislike to Rita Skeeter though. She is even more manipulative than I thought. She seems to twist words even more than muggle journalists. So far I do wonder about how she found out about hagrid being half giant and Krum inviting Hermione to Bulgaria. (Even though she's meant to banned from the grounds)

Part 2
I enjoyed reading the rest of this book immensely. It was spectacularly written and very well layed out.
The maze scene was especially well written. It was very different from the movie, but the quality exceptional and i found that pleasantly surprising.
It was very interesting reading about the death eaters. There are several you wouldn't expect though. It was very interesting to know that Karkaroff would be cowardly enough to run away from Voldermort.
Soon after the tournament Harry wouldn't speak of the events that occured in the maze. I sympathize with Harry after the tournament. Though I do wish that Harry and Ginny's relationship could have developed in this novel as that would have been a fascinating read.
This book is phenomenal. The book is very well written and layed out. It's quality is as good as the first three and can't wait to read the next book. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who comes across the author or series.

Twilight | Review

Apologies for this review being rather long and being in parts, but It made it a little easier for me to write.

Part 1 :
When I first picked up this product, I had no expectations, though the start of the novel did disappoint me. Also, up to a certain part of the book the movie was better.
Then I released that some points of the book were good and well written. (possible rape, restaurant scene and taking her home). I especially like the part were Bella said 'And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.' In other parts though such as the shopping scene weren't so well written.
I believe that Bella comes across as rather useless and can't think or stand up for herself. This isn't how women should be portrayed in 21st century novels, especially by a female author. I think Stephanie Meyer should know better than this.
Although I'm 18 I feel to old for this book who I think is about 13 - 15 years old girls who either don't have boyfriends or really enjoy fantasies. So far I think this book is staring to suck (pardon the pun).

Part 2:
The part were Bella's friends find out that she and Edward are together was an enjoyable part of the book. For example, I like Mike's reaction 'I don't like it' and that she looks like food. I also like that Jessica rolled her eyes at Bella when she walked over to sit with Edward. Though I don't understand why Bella won't tell Charlie about her relationship with Edward.
One part that really irritates me in that Bella keeps going on and on about Edwards good looks. I dislike the constant attention to how attractive he is and it's getting annoying. Is there more to Edward than his dazzling good looks? I'm not interested in the whole wishy washy prince charming thing that Bella seems to be into. I understand that this is fiction but I don't appreciate fairy tale like stories.
So far I dislike Bella. She comes across as whinny, selfish and unhumanly shallow. (Since the only person she has interest in is the hot, shiny rich guy).
I do like Edward though, but he seems to be a perfect match for Bella. He broods, smolders and stalks Bells to show how much he is in love with her. Is watching her sleep at night really the best way to show this? (Bit to creepy for my liking). Though I do like Edward because he actually shows emotion such as love as well as concern. As a result I don't find him as selfish as Bella.
As for Jacob, he is described rather vaguely so far and doesn't really make much of an effect on me. All I can see is that he's to young for Bella and that his immaturity shows.
The dialogue is also rather poor, like the book it has good and bad points. For example the forest scene with Edward shows his skin I find the dialogue very good. 'As if you could outrun me', or 'As if you could fight me off'. Though some parts are very poor and don't meet my expectations.

Part 3:
I enjoyed the part were Bella Meets Edwards family. I was curious about their reaction and what could happen to her. I like Esme and Carlyle and enjoyed learning about their past. Also I really enjoyed Charlie's reaction to Bella and Edwards relationship.
I didn't like the baseball scene that much. I didn't think it was that well written compared to some scene's in the book. The dialogue wasn't great and the new vampires were rather vague. Though still a better scene than some I suppose.
I enjoyed the chase scene as I thought It was slightly better written and was better than some parts of the book. Also I enjoyed reading about Alice's ability to see into the future. I thought the scene were Bella said goodbye to Charlie was good, possibly some of the best in the book. Though I preferred the same scene in the movie because I felt more emotion towards Bella as well as Charlie.
The scene in the gallery wasn't that great, I think the descriptions could have been better. At least the dialogue was half decent in this section of the book. The escape from jasper was unrealistic as I don't understand how it couldn't be foreseen by Alice and how Jasper couldn't stop her.
When it comes to the prom I was rather bored until the conversation between Edward and Bella.
Unfortunately I won't be recommending this book. I know it has it's good points but I think it's mostly bad. As as result I didn't enjoy this book as much as I could have. There for this book doesn't get more than 2 stars.

The Salem Witch Society | Review

The Salem witch Society was an impulse buy at the supermarket helped along by the cheap price. Though I never expected to be such an enjoyable read.

The twists and turns were spectacular and I never knew what was going to happen next, or who the killer was. Though some descriptions were too long and seemed to drone on a little.

The research must have been painstaking, especially with the use of transcripts. Though it was all worthwhile in the end.

It seems to me that Percival Grey was much like Sherlock Holmes. The relationship between Lean and Grey was like Holmes and Watson in the franchise. This made me more interested in finding the killer as I have previously enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. Though the name Percival Grey does make be think of 50 Shade Of Grey and that the book could have taken a completely different turn.

All in all it's a very intriguing story, keeping me gripped throughout. It was easy to read but was still a complex story that was well written. Percival, Archie and Helen were all wonderful characters and I can't wait to start the sequel.

The Fault In Our Stars | Review

I have to admit, that even though I'd heard this book was really good, I was expecting the young adults novel about cancer to be a very bleak read, but until the end the author has you in reasonably high spirits.

This is a book with a group of characters that you'll come to love (Hazel and Augustus). They are fantastically lovable characters who flit the conversation between the meaning of life and finding refuge in video games and TV shows.

Though, this book is more than that. It's about coming to terms with your life being insignificant to many (apart from family and friends).It's about the impact that terminal diseases have on the family and friends of those left behind. Also it's about teenagers growing up, learning to take responsibility and defining themselves for who they are, not for what disease they may have.

"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings." From a Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, if wondering about the title. This book is thought provoking and sometimes rather sad, but overall a good read and is highly recommended.

The Lovely Bones | Review

"My name Is Salmon, like the fish; First name Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973. My murderer was a man in our neighborhood."

The first chapter wasn't an easy read. It describes the rape and murder of Susie Salmon, It's a gruesome scene dealt with in the most delicate way possible.

This book starts of brilliantly. It evokes nostalgia, warmth,care,pain and grief. It does this without being overly sentimental. Though, unfortunately it goes downhill about halfway through the novel. It becomes very unbelievable and loses momentum. At least that point the spell poor Susie had over me was broken.

During the book, we see the day to day life of those struggling with the loss of Susie, but about halfway through the book, it jumps two years in a matter of three pages. If you don't pay attention you'll easily lose timing within the book.

All I can say that this book was pretty average. It was a shame and only partly enjoyable, though I think the author could have quickened the plot slightly and had the book finished in twenty or so less pages. Also, certain characters could have been explored a little more.

Fangirl | Review

I got this book as an impulse buy as I didn't know what to read. I struggled to get into this book at first, before long I I was hooked and couldn't put this book down.

Rainbow Rowell has done an amazing job with the characters. For example, Cath is easy for teenagers to relate to as many can be shy and moving from home is difficult for everyone, not just teenagers. I really liked Levi, he was funny and totally drool worthy. The conversation mentioning "I mean are you rooting for me?" was great, it perfectly explains what some guys are like.

I have to admit, I think i'm fangirling about Fangirl. I can recommend this book to everyone who stumbles across it. You seriously have to read this !

The Book Thief | Review

I can happily say I thoroughly enjoyed this book and liked Zusaks writing style. He has a gift of imagery and manages an easy narrative warmth. I found the personification of death in this story very interesting and as it turns out, even death has a heart.

Now, here's the thing with Holocaust fiction. There has to be truth, crude, ugly and blessed truth. It's the only way to tackle the monstrosity, the only way to show respect for the victims. So cosy isn't a word I should be using in a review of a World War 2 book, but as a character Leisel is just that. Sure she has a rough start and some rough times, but as a whole it's all been hunky dory really.Though I'll not go into detail, I'll let you read the book for yourself.

So there are some happy and tear worthy moments, but an awesome book all the same. This book is a recommendation and it gets 5 stars.

Eleanor & Park | Review

All I can say is wow, just wow. This book is just brilliant.

I read this book along with a free audio-book I managed to find on Youtube (because I was in a reading slump and didn't want to spend a load of extra money on another version on the same book), but OH My God ! It helped so much. Both the male and female voices helped in the audio so much and made me want to read it so much more and therefore helped me so much with my reading.#

All I can do is praise Rainbow Rowell for giving us such an amazing, awesome and utterly brilliant book. I loved this book so much and I'm sure other Rainbow Rowell fans will also love this book. If you don't know who Rainbow Rowell is read this book anyway, just do it. It's fantastic, trust me. I can honestly give this book 5 stars and can definitely recommend this book.

The Girl Who Just Appeared | Review

I picked this book up as part of an offer as I chose two other books and didn't know what else to read. So, going by appearance I picked this book up and can say I'm glad I did and enjoyed this book a lot.

I haven't read any of the authors previous book, so I read this book without any expectations and think it's the best way to go about reading this book, as you'll be pleasantly surprised.

This book is poignant, a little sad in places and it's also a journey of discovery with a very pleasant ending. The only problem with the book I had was Darren's writing. Now, I'm not a grammar Nazi or anything, and I understand that he wasn't well educated, but the lack of formality in his first part of the book was frustrating to me. Though I eventually got over this problem with the book. I eventually started enjoying this book for what it is, brilliant !

I'm very happy I picked up this book and that it turned out good and that it turned out better than expected. What more could you ask for right? Anyway, I highly recommend this book to new and previous readers of the authors books and can easily give this author 4 stars.

Love Letters To The Dead | Review

When I saw this book on booktube, I thought, I have to read this book and have been looking forward to reading it since I bought it. All I can say is that it didn't disappoint.

The book is a collection of letters to likes of Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Amelia Earheart as she travels along high school making friends, finding and losing love and coming to terms with life without May and how she died.

Laurel’s journey is, if I'm honest, very sad. It’s emotional and really tugs on your heart. The emotions that poured out of me while reading her story were unbelievable, because I was feeling so many different things all at once: sad, confused, happy, hopeful and so many more. My heart just broke for poor Laurel.

This is a superb book that is very clearly influenced by Perks of Being A Wallflower in a way that is noticeable but isn't irritating or a direct updated copy. The format of letter-writing for the plot is rather clever and takes the pressure off the reader as being the sole-bearer of all Laurel's woes.

Emotional, painful but surprisingly enjoyable, Love Letters to the Dead is a beautifully written story that deals grief, hope and first love. I can recommend this book to everyone.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower | Review

When I bought this book, I was expecting it to be an amazing book (like everyone kept saying). But, as you can tell (and you're going to hate me for this) I was disappointed and let down with this book.

All I can say is that I felt no connection with Charlie at all. I felt no pity or even feel like I liked him. Harsh I know, but true. I think maybe this was the main reason I disliked the book so much.

I did read another book though (Love Letters To The Dead), where the layout is almost identical to The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Though the plot is different, I felt a connection to the main character at least, and with it being a fairly new release, I enjoyed it a lot more.

I unfortunately can't recommend this book, as it didn't live up to the "hype", but If you liked this book I can recommend Love Letters To The Dead by Ava Dellaira.

Any Red Blooded Girl

The start of this book was absolutely brilliant. It grabbed my attention immediately, but after a few pages is rapidly went downhill. I thought it was unrealistic, a complete drag and gets rather irritating.

As you can tell, I was very disappointed. At least until the twist in the story (Don't worry, I won't spoil it for you). This twist was very helpful to this book, as it helped me back into the book rather than throw it across the room.

Although there was several good points and a lot of bad, all I can do is say that this book just didn't cut it for me. If the part between the start and the twist was good, I'd tell you this was amazing, but I can't.

I wish this book was as good as I'd hoped, though if you did like this book, the next one (going by chapter 1) seems really good.

Insurgent | Review

It's safe to say that Divergent was one of the best book I read in 2014, so when I bought Insurgent I couldn't wait to read it.

I had high expectations for this book and held it back for a little while, expecting it to be bad because of some bad reviews. All I can say is why the hell did't I read it sooner? It was amazing. It was action packed, there was running, shooting and fighting. For a distopian book, what more could you ask for?

I expected to hate the relationship between Tris and Tobias is Divergent but was very surprised by it. I think Divergent was just the build up with their relationship. This book shows the more "real" side to their relationship. Some people may say that Tris was a bitch and that Tobias had more mood swings that a teenage girl in this book. I would somewhat agree, but you would understand their relationship considering what's going on in their world.

There is twists and turns in this book that were amazing and the one at the end, wow. It really made me want to read more. I can't wait to get my hands on the last book and gave this book 5 stars, and can recommend.

Prince Of Hazel And Oak | Review

This book is the second book in the Shadowmagic trilogy by John Lenahan and have to say that this was even better than the first.

Everything about this book was either just as good or better than the first. The plot for example was full of twists and turns, although often predictable, enjoyable and entertaining all the same.

It's pretty easy to get into this book and think John Lenahan does an excellent job of getting you into the book quickly. The dialogue appears to be minor and there is some comic content too, but that turns into major plot points later on and adds something extra into the book.

Connor and Essa's characters were improved in this book, I think mostly because they had to grow up a little, making them slightly more relate-able. Other characters such as Brendan and Aunt Neive were great to read about as you learn a little more about them. I enjoyed most of the characters enormously in this book and have been improved greatly

This book was a great read and with the free pod-cast (read by the author), it was even better. I can definitely recommend this book and give it 5 stars and will read the last book pretty soon.

I'll Give You The Sun | Review

I'm disappointed that this book was not as good as everyone keeps saying it is and I don't think I've heard a single bad thing about it, and eventually all this hype made me pick it up.

No, I don't think it's the hype that ruined it for me - I just generally don't think it was as amazing and mind-blowing as everyone keeps claiming. I still enjoyed this book (at some points) and I do feel it's an average story - hence my rating. My biggest problem, though, was that this story is told from two people's perspectives and I did not like one of those people. That means that I didn't really care for half of the book.

There is better books out there, though maybe if I'd had a physical copy rather than the audio book I may have enjoyed it a lot more.

I unfortunately can't give this any more than 3 stars.

An End Of Night | Review

As always, there was lots of action and mystery in this book. I loved this book like all of the others.

My only complaint is that there wasn't enough of Ben Novalic compared to the other characters. I do understand why, with there being so much going on, but there could have been an extra chapter put in there.

The book was as well written as always by Bella Forrest. I look forward to reading the next and final book in the series, were we'll get an awesome finish to the series. As usual this book gets 4 stars.

Barry Trotter And The Unnecessary sequel | Review

I'm not saying this was terrible (despite being more pointless than book one), but think book one was a lot better, even though I only gave it three stars.

I found this one to be slower and more boring compared to the first book. I guess I just enjoyed the randomness of book one.

I can only hope that book three is better and more random than book two.

As a result this book ended up with two stars.
