As hard as this is to say, it wasn't my favourite. I much prefered Heather Morris' first book The Tattooist Of Auschwitz.As awful as the stories are horrendous in regards to content, especially with sexual assault being something in this that has affected me personally, I couldn't care as much as I should've. Unlike Heather Morris' first book, I don't think she managed to flesh out Cilka as much as she did the main character in The Tattooist Of Auschwitz. It lessens the story a little bit and I wonder if she did as much research as I'd have liked on Cilka's personality.
Wish I could have liked this a tonne more than I did and gave it 3 stars on Goodreads.
