Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon Wrap Up

Hey guys, as you'll probably know, I took part in the Dewey's 24 hour readathon this time round that took part on the 23rd April. This event lasted 24 hours in the UK from 1pm Saturday to Sunday 1pm.

I managed to read:

66 pages of The Hound Of The Baskervilles and 65 pages of In A Dark Dark Wood, bringing my total page count to 131 pages.

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon !!

Hey guys, I'm planning on taking part in the Dewey's 24 hour readathon this year. I probably will get through the equivalent of a book during the day (hopefully).

This one takes place on the 23rd of April and I plan to finish In The Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware and try and get through some of The Hound Of The Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle.

To Kill A Mockingbird | Review

So this book revolves around three main character, Atticus, Scout and Jem. It takes place in 1930's Macombe where a trial, which Atticus defends Tom a black male who has been accused of sexually assaulting a young white woman. All while being told from the perspective of Scout.

I found the plot of this book to be fascinating and generally a very enjoyable read. The pacing was reasonable, given that I was never bored and kept me interested throughout, Though at first it was a little difficult to get into.

Though not difficult to read, I did find the writing a little different and took a couple of chapters to get my head round. Though I think this is due to when it was written and the time it is set rather more than anything. Though it did help with the book overall.

I found the characters all to be fascinating and fun to read about. Although some were somewhat deluded, though I'll let you read it to find that out.

This was a great read and enjoyed reading from a young child's perspective and gave the story that childlike innocence that wouldn't otherwise be there. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who didn't have to read this at school, just because you won't have that added pressure and I think you'd love it. This book got a well earned 4 stars on Goodreads.

The Miserable Mill | Review

This one is so far the most miserable one. I enjoyed this one more than the previous book as you can tell with me managing this one in a day.

This one wasn't in the movie and I think that explains why I enjoyed it so much, because I didn't know what was going to happen (and knowing the same stereotypical stuff at the same time).

Great instalment to the series, great for all children from about 8-13 years if not older too. A huge 5 stars from me.

Seed | Review

I don't really have much to say about this one. I did ultimately enjoy this one, but think that the writing needed some improvement and some of the characters needed a little more character development, but was generally ok.

The plot on the other hand was great and the cult was very interesting to read about. It was very creepy and weird to read about.

The author did a pretty good job of this one and I look forward to reading the next book. I definitely recommend this book especially to anyone 14/16 year olds and think they'll love it. I gave this book 4 stars on Goodreads.
