Z - Minus | Review

I was asked if I would be interested in reading this novel and write an honest review – to which I said yes.

Although a quick read, I did find that the plot was lagging. I didn't find it all that exciting or original Which was disappointing. There is definitely better out there regardless of whether it's a children's, teen or young adult read.

The characters are unrealistic, unlike-able and lack development. I found that Maisie was unconvincing as an 8 year old. I think the author needs to look at how 8 year old react to different things to make a larger impact and make me love her character.

Her father on the other hand, was even worse. He was an alcoholic who beat his wife and children with an utter lack of remorse. Although there was slight development at the end, I found his character to be too much of a jerk to care.

I think that I might have to stick to things like this, that are much better quality such as, Zom-B by Darren Shan. Although a kids book, it isn't as bad a book.

Rybsat Round 7

Rybsat is a readathon that usually lasts 6/7 days. The only real challenge is to read your books in order from the point you choose from your book shelf. Though if you have a series, you can choose one book and skip to the book that is after that series.

So far I have picked 2 book on my Kindle device, these are:

Z Minus: A Post Apocalypse Trilogy

This book has 151 pages

Hidden Dragon Land book 1

This has 315 pages

total pages : 466 pages

Hopefully I will get more reading done, but this will be all for now. I look forward to finding out what everyone else is reading.

Bringing Stan In | Review

This short story is so short that I don't know how to explain it.

It does touch some serious subjects, but if it was 30 or 40 pages longer I think we could've had a little more insight that what was there with about 15 pages.

My 2 star rating on Goodreads doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, but I could've had a little more from the story.

The Carpet People | Review

Ok, as you can tell this book was a little disappointing. I was told that this book should start me off and make it easier when I get to start the Discworld series.

I found that, with this book at least that Terry Pratchett's plot didn't make much sense. The simplicity of the writing makes sense, as it is a children's book. Though as a whole I found this book and Terry Pratchett so far to be disappointing.

I wanted to love the book, but unfortunately I didn't. I can only give this a 2 star review on Goodreads.

Booktube | Reading Goals For 2016

Reading Goals / Challenges 2016

Last year I set myself a few goals, including reading three series and reading as much as possible throughout the year. This year I din't have many, as I don't want to over challenge myself and make myself stressed at the end of the year.

So, so far I only have 5 challanges, though I may add more within the next several weeks.

  • Create more none spoiler reviews on Youtube
  • Try and finish or catch up on as many series as possible throughout the year
  • Keep posting regularly on Youtube and Blog
  • Try to read a more varied range of genres if possible
  • Try to use the library more often

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner | Review

This book was an out of nowhere kind of read. I didn't even know it existed until recently.

Although I think the point of view of Bree was valuable, I think it could have been any newborn vampire that was in the book. The book was very fan-fic (may or may not be appropriate?) and don't think it really needed to be published.

I can only recommend this to someone younger myself, someone who actually enjoyed this series more than I did.

Overall the book was just OK and can only give the book 3 stars on Goodreads.
