The Sea Witch | Review

Well, this one was a surprise.  My expectations weren't to low, but I'm surprised it exceeded them so much too.

Serena Is one of Prince Tritan's maids. She is in love with him, but one thing is holding her back. Not being a maid, but a sea witch. She must prove herself to get the love of her life, but to do that she must deceive, plot and murder.

As much as you pity and want her to succeed at the start of the book, by the end you will have the opposite reaction. You will totally understand by the end of the book.

Her character was very well developed and I loved to hate Prince Tritan's mother. The characters in general were great and the plot was good. Going by the end of this book the rest of the series should be very interesting to say the least.

I look forward to the next book and this one gets a solid 4 stars on Goodreads.

Carry On | Review

I was hoping I'd like this as much as Fan-girl, but unfortunately it didn't live up to that expectation. Though for published fan fiction I can't say I expected much more (even when published by the author).

Some of the things in this book are pretty good. For example, the friendship and love type interests were written reasonably well. Then it started to fall apart. 

The first part of the book was very slow and not much really happened, until a certain character is introduced. Even then most of the action happens all at once, leaving a gaping whole for any kind of action during the remainder of the book. The pacing on this could have been improved.

You don't really need to read Fan-girl before reading this book, though If you've read Harry Potter, you'll understand the references this book has. 

Overall this book was a mix of just OK and meh, so I can push this to a 2.5 stars on Goodreads.

Breaking Dawn | Review

Overall I found that this book was pretty good, though I have a couple of issues with it.

The first is that I found Jacob to still be very irritating throughout his point of view. Some of his perspective was necessary, but most of it dragged and was annoying beyond belief. I wish his character could've developed into a less irritating and more understanding more level headed character.

The only other problem is that because I found Jacobs perspective to drag, I think it could have been shortened by around 100 pages, allowing the important parts to be more exciting rather than taking an age and be horribly boring in the process.

Other than that, the book itself was better than the previous three and gets 3/5 stars on Goodreads.

1 Year On Booktube?

From Minor To Major | Review

In the first and second part of this book the protagonist is called Adrian Mole from the ages of 13 - 15 years old. I found Adrian to be very irritating and irrational to the point I found him unpleasant to read about and wanted to hit him. 

Though by the last part of the book, although still obnoxious and mildly annoying (at 23), I didn't want to hit him at least, so can recommend the last portion of the book just for the slight lack of irritation.

I think a younger reader would get this book more than I do, as I find some teens in books to get very irritating now. All I ask for is a reasonably level headed teenager. Is that too much to ask? 

Overall this book was just OK, it's nothing amazing and only gets 2/5 stars.

Inferno | Review

As always this book was pretty awesome. Though this time the problem wasn't the ending, but rather the pacing. I struggled a little during the middle of the book to get through it. That's not to say it wasn't interesting of course.

There was the usual characters such as Robert Langdon and a beautiful woman helping him along, though if you like that recurring theme, then you will certainly enjoy this aspect.

When reading the book I did become curious about Dante Alighieri and researched his 'The Divine Comedy' and some other works. Expanding my interests and reading can only be a good thing right?

So overall a good book, though pacing could be a little better. If you liked the previous books this will be another enjoyable read.

Darkmouth | Review

This has to be one of the best children's books I've read all year. It's exciting and something I've never come across before.

The characters where great, the main Characters being fun and interesting to read about.

The plot was very good, which surprised me a lot. It was full of action and kept me entertained throughout. I can definitely recommend to children 9 plus for sure and gave this a solid 4 stars on Goodreads.
